Resveratrol Benefits
Many of the claimed resveratrol benefits are unproven at this early stage of testing, but history is certainly paving the way to the “proven article”, so to speak.
I wrote extensively in my article titled Anti Aging Treatment, regarding resveratrol benefits and the history of red wine and it’s effects on the French and Romans.
In this article I will show you why pure resveratrol is going to revolutionize the way you look at your health and why it may very well be the only Antioxidant Supplement you will ever need to take, saving you money and more importantly protecting you from the ravages of many of the 21st Century diseases.
Resveratrols benefits are many and those researching and experimenting claim it has influence in the following areas:
Anti Aging
Resveratrol anti aging benefits are due to its ability to activate the SITR1 [sirtuins] longevity genes in the body. Sirtuins reduce cellular decay and imparts to the cells greater power to repair themselves.
Scientists have suggested these types of genes are present in all forms of living matter, and they pass on to the human body similar benefits that are achievable with calorie restricted diets. They slow down metabolism and enhance cellular respiration and thus help the body to tackle “crisis” situations triggered by switching on to calorie restricted diets from regular diets.
The basic thing thus is, resveratrol slows down cellular decay, reduces cell death, controls growth of abnormal cells, and gives the cells more capacity to repair them. All these attributes are extremely important longevity enhancers and certainly qualify as resveratrol benefits.

Arthritis
Resveratrol is being investigated as a treatment for arthritis. For example, researchers working with rabbits found that resveratrol shuts down the production of HLA-DR4 the compound known to lead to joint deterioration in arthritis patients.
A quick search on the internet will show just how many people are writing articles on their own personal experiences with resveratrol on their arthritis. I have written more extensively on Arthritis Treatments here.
Here is a small excerpt from one persons experience I obtained from the internet.
Quote:“After being on resveratrol for about six months it came to me. I was forgetting to take the naproxen and there was no pain or stiffness. Then I decided to play full court basketball to see how my joints would hold out. In the past playing even for a short period caused significant pain and stiffness. This time there was the some muscle tightness and pain just like it would have been if I was twenty years younger. This startled me. Being a scientist I investigated whether resveratrol was known to have any affects on arthritis. Now it may be something other than resveratrol that resulted in my arthritis remission. However, you can not convince me.” End Quote.
Clear evidence here of ongoing resveratrol benefits in this persons experience.
Alzheimer’s
Resveratrol has the ability to neutralize the toxic effects of proteins linked to Alzheimer’s disease according to research led by Rensselaer Professor Peter M. Tessier. Resveratrol promotes the clearing of brain plaques implicated in Alzheimer’s disease [see video].
I have dedicated a full article on the alternative Treatment For Alzheimer’s and I would encourage you to read it.
Cholesterol
One of the simpler resveretrol benefits. Most super antioxidants have the effect of thinning the blood therefore helping reduce the effects of cholesterol buildup with in the arteries.
Cholesterol is present in two forms – LDL (low density lipoprotein) and HDL (high density lipoprotein) It is the LDL which is the “bad cholesterol” which can lead to many health problems, while the “good” HDL helps to keep the bad LDL under control.
Plaque is made up of oxidized LDL particles and Resveratrol has been shown to reduce oxidized LDL – and by natural conclusion, will help to lower cholesterol levels
The reason why LDL is bad, is that it oxidizes and forms plague (a build-up) on your blood vessels which leads to the narrowing of the blood vessels, and which will lead to heart disease, stroke and blood circulatory problems.
Heart Disease
The infamous “French Paradox” is a contributor to the firm belief resveratrol [in red wine] reduces the propensity of coronary disease despite a high fat content diet. Studies on alcohol-free red wine given to mice have found that it significantly decreased atherosclerosis and prevented arterial thrombosis, both related to heart disease.
A dedicated article on Heart Disease Prevention is in the site.
Sleeping Disorders
This is one of my favourite resveratrol benefits because of the immediate effect it has had on me.
I have personally benefited from my consumption of resveratrol in this regard. From being an Insomniac to a sleeping baby has made a big difference to me a stand tall as one of the best resveratrol benefits for me.

Diabetes
Resveratrol is known to activate a gene called SIRT1, and SIRT1 is linked not only to insulin secretion, but also to better insulin sensitivity.
Ongoing investigation is required before resveratrol supplementation can be responsibly approved for diabetes disorders, but early findings have given enough initial positive results to warrant further research for scientists and medical researchers alike.
Read my full article on another alternative Treatment for Diabetes . I am very passionate about this subject as five of my family members have either type one or type two diabetes.
Cancer
Much is written about resveratrol and it’s positive link to cancer and the link between cancer and resveratrol is the main reason why I am using the product. This is by far the biggest of my Resveratrol Benefits.

Data suggest that resveratrol may keep blood from clotting, much like aspirin. There is also evidence that it relaxes blood vessels, exerts an antioxidant effect, and keeps cholesterol and triglycerides from forming the arterial lesions that can cause heart attacks and strokes.
One of my biggest article on this website is on Cancer Alternatives. I firmly believe one of the main resveratrol benefits will be cancer.
Weight Loss
This was another of the resveratrol benefits I experienced without really wanting too. You will see in my About Peter Castledine page. Lost weight without trying.
There is a strong link between body fat loss and resveratrol and I write at length in my article on Body Fat Loss. Resveratrol is thought amongst other things to help suppress hunger. Read more.
Energy Booster
Much is documented about the endurance effect resveratrol has on the body. Many tests on mice have been conducted with similar results.
Drop by and listen to some of the videos on my The Media and Resveratrol red Wine page.
Endurance is another one of the resveratrol benefits I have experienced and you can access this information on my About Peter Castledine page.
General Body and Muscular Ache
Seems to be a direct link to Arthritis in many ways. I am a bit of an exercise junkie and the benefits of resveratrol for me have been quite significant in terms of post workout recovery. My muscle ache and recovery is 50% lower with the use of resveratrol.
I do talk about them in more detail within my Energy Supplements article and my About Peter Castledine page.
My Recommendation
There are many documented benefits of resveratrol detailed both in this web site and right around the internet world. These are just some of the ones I have made myself aware of but I am positive as time goes by and with the benefit of more research there will more and more resveratrol benefits being discovered.
What is clear to me is, different people have different reactions to resveratrol due to a variety of reasons, including the dosage and quality they use.
My recommendation therefore is to look for the very best pure resveratrol which should include product guarantees and quality certification.
You will find all you need in the Jing Tea Health Centre Resveratrol I use. Despite what you may have heard, resveratrol doesn’t have to be expensive if you buy it in quantity. Mine costs less than USD$22 [AUD$27] per month.
